How to use Instagram: A beginner’s guide

Imagine a location where you can find out more about everything you’re interested in, discover new businesses, get book recommendations, and keep up to date on your college roommate’s life.

For me, for you and over one billion other active Instagram users, that is precisely what the platform offers.

In this beginner’s tutorial, I’ll cover everything you need about Instagram, from setting up an account to developing your company or personal brand on the network.

What is Instagram?

You can share videos and photos via its mobile app on the social media network Instagram. If your account is public, you can edit, take, and publish visual content for followers and non-followers. Users can engage with your material via likes, shares, comments, or saves.

What is Instagram’s primary goal, and how should one use it?

Instagram was created to promote visual self-expression, narrative, and visual media-related social interaction. With time, the platform has developed to accommodate additional services like live streaming, instant chat, commerce integrations, and more. The main objective is to offer a visually focused social network where people may share their lives and experiences with others.

Among Instagram’s salient characteristics are:

  1. Images and Videos: You can add pictures and movies to their profile, which you can alter using creative tools like filters.
  2. Stories: Users can upload images and videos to Instagram Stories, but they vanish after a day. Stories can incorporate numerous interactive components, such as polls, questions, and links.
  3. Direct messaging: You can use direct messaging to send voice messages, audio memos, videos, and private messages to people.
  4. Explore Page: The Explore webpage allows users to find new information and accounts based on their behaviour and interests.
  5. Live streaming: It allows you to share videos with your followers in real-time and for them to respond to you in real-time through comments.
  6. Shopping: Instagram offers built-in shopping capabilities that allow users to purchase using the app.

Instagram’s main goal is to provide users with a social media platform to share images, videos, and other visual content with their followers.
